Aqara G400 Wired Doorbell Camera
Aqara · DB-C03E / DB-C03D
The Aqara Doorbell Camera G400 (Wired) is a doorbell camera designed for hardwired installations and continuous 24/7 operation. Unlike battery-powered doorbells, it can be powered via PoE or via existing 8-24V AC/DC doorbell wiring, enabling continuous recording, a more stable connection and less maintenance. The camera delivers 2K resolution at 1536 x 2048 pixels in a 3:4 vertical format, ideal for head-to-toe views to better monitor visitors and packages left at the door. Its 165° diagonal field of view helps minimize blind spots, and night vision uses invisible 940 nm infrared LEDs to record in the dark without attracting attention. On connectivity, the G400 stands out by offering Ethernet with PoE and dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi 6 with WPA3. When using PoE, a single Ethernet cable carries both data and power. It can also be installed using existing 8-24V AC or DC doorbell wiring, although Aqara warns it won’t work with traditional mechanical chimes. The device includes local AI-based detection for motion, people and zone intrusion, so basic detections don’t depend on the cloud. With the HomeGuardian plan you get advanced cloud features like face, pet, package and vehicle detection, cloud storage, AI video search/summary and richer notifications. For home automation and advanced surveillance, the G400 is especially interesting because Aqara states compatibility with Home Assistant via RTSP and ONVIF. This lets you use it in more open setups, NVRs and compatible systems. It also works with Apple Home and HomeKit Secure Video, though Apple Home limits resolution to 1200p and HSV requires iCloud+ and an Apple Home hub. The doorbell supports two-way audio, instant video calls to your phone when the button is pressed, predefined or custom quick responses, adjustable number of rings and use with the included chime. It can also stream to smart displays compatible with Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings, and offers Aqara Home features like privacy masks, voice modification, unlocking from live view with compatible locks and snapshots on compatible Aqara displays. For storage, it supports microSD cards up to 512GB for continuous 24/7 recording and automatic backup to an SMB NAS. A microSD card is not included and is required for local continuous recording and NAS support. The enclosure has IP65 protection against rain and dust, a tamper alarm and mounting accessories, including a 15° wedge to adjust the installation angle. It is not a Zigbee, Thread or Matter device. Its main integrations are as a camera/doorbell via Aqara Home, Apple Home/HomeKit Secure Video, RTSP/ONVIF, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings. If you want Home Assistant integration, it’s best to treat it as an RTSP/ONVIF camera rather than a full native Aqara device.
