The LinknLink iSG Box SE is a desktop smart home gateway designed to centralize Home Assistant, local automations, smart device integration, cameras, home automation protocols, and smart home services in a single compact device. Unlike a closed hub, the iSG Box SE comes with Home Assistant preinstalled and is aimed at users who want a more open solution to control devices from different brands. LinknLink presents it as part of the iSG family, Intelligent Super Gateway, a platform that combines a Home Assistant server, a multiprotocol gateway, local control, remote access, local automation, and compatibility with ecosystems such as Alexa, Google Assistant, and HomeKit Bridge. On the hardware side, the iSG Box SE includes a 4-core 2.0 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. It does not have a touchscreen like the iSG Display Max, but it does feature a front LED status display. It also includes 2 USB-A ports, HDMI, and AV output, which sets it apart from many traditional smart home hubs. For connectivity, it supports WiFi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, Bluetooth, and Ethernet. For Zigbee, the guide indicates use through a USB dongle, and it also supports external Z-Wave dongles. This is important: it should not be presented as an internal Zigbee hub when talking specifically about the iSG Box SE, because the official table lists Zigbee via USB dongle. At the protocol level, LinknLink lists compatibility with Matter, Zigbee 3.0, LinknLink, Tuya, MQTT, Modbus, ONVIF, and RTSP. That makes it interesting for setups with sensors, IP cameras, Tuya devices, Modbus equipment, local automations, and cameras that can be integrated into Home Assistant. The iSG Box SE also includes notable features such as Android app installation from Google Play or APK, an AI smart energy service, an AI agent for WhatsApp and Telegram, and entertainment apps such as YouTube, Prime Video, and Netflix. These features make it feel more like a smart home media box than a simple Zigbee coordinator. For Home Assistant, its biggest appeal is that it comes preinstalled and can use Add-ons such as MQTT Broker, Zigbee2MQTT, Z-Wave JS UI, Matter Bridge, web access, Cloudflare, or ZeroTier according to LinknLink's documentation. Even so, it is worth keeping in mind that some features may depend on configuration, connected dongles, the local network, external services, or the LinknLink account. It does not run on battery: it requires constant 5V/2A power. LinknLink also says that an Internet connection is needed for sign-in, although after that it can work locally without Internet, except for specific integrations such as Tuya, which may still require cloud access.
