The Meross MSP844 is a Matter smart power strip designed to centralize power, fast charging and smart control in a single device. It integrates 4 AC outlets, 2 USB-C ports and 2 USB-A ports, so it can replace a traditional strip and several USB chargers on desks, nightstands, living rooms or offices. Its main feature is compatibility with Matter over WiFi. This allows integration into ecosystems like Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant via a compatible Matter controller. It does not use Zigbee or Thread: the network connection is WiFi, and Matter runs over that connection. The four AC outlets can be controlled independently, while the USB ports operate as a group. This lets you turn connected devices on or off, create schedules, automations and scenes from the Meross app or from Matter-compatible platforms. On the charging side, the MSP844 includes USB-C with PD fast charging up to 30W on a single port and USB-A with QC 3.0 up to 18W. When multiple USB ports are used at once, power is shared between them, with a combined output specified as 5V / 3.4A max for the USB group. The power strip supports a maximum AC load of 16A / 3680W in the European version, with input 100-240V~ 50/60Hz. It also includes overload protection, a flame-retardant enclosure and CE/TUV certifications according to available information. For Home Assistant, the recommended approach is to treat it as a Matter/WiFi power strip. On/off control should work via Matter if you have a compatible Matter server/controller. Energy measurement should not be assumed per individual outlet: some references mention consumption or statistics, but in Matter it is normally limited to switch control and, if consumption appears, it may be global or depend on Meross/LAN integration and firmware.
